Write for us

Trusted Conversation welcomes pitches for clear, original work about how people ask, listen, respond and make sense of one another. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise outline is more useful than an unsolicited full draft.

What we welcome

Pitch an article with a precise subject and a reason it matters to readers. We are interested in careful explanations, comparisons of conversational forms, histories of customs and settings, examinations of common assumptions, and focused guides to a particular kind of exchange. Each proposal should have its own central idea rather than repeat a general list of communication tips.

A useful pitch

Include a working title, a short summary of the main point, the likely structure and any sources or examples the piece would rely on. Say what the reader will understand by the end and what makes the subject distinct from familiar advice. Do not present personal experience as proof of a universal claim, and identify any uncertainty or limits in the proposed argument.

Before sending

Work should be original, carefully checked and written in plain English. Explain any specialist terms, respect the privacy of people discussed and avoid claims that require credentials or evidence you cannot provide. Use the Contact page to send a proposal; it includes a way to choose the reason for your message.

Our starting point

Trust grows through the way we talk

A conversation is not a performance to win. It is a shared effort to understand what is being said, what remains unclear and what might be worth asking next.
